Purge Troubleshooting Tips

Here are a few common situations that can prevent purges from running.

ISSUE 1:

The purge request keeps rolling over to the next night because a daily report is scheduled.

A Pending purge request will not run if a report is scheduled within 6 hours from the time the purge is initiated. If your pharmacy schedules reports to run each morning, this could prevent the purge from running.

The purge is initiated after the nightly 12:30am full database backup completes, therefore the time of the purge varies from store to store depending on the size of the database.

For example, if the full database backup completes at 2:15am, the purge process will check if any reports are scheduled between 2:15am and 8:15am. The purge will not run if a report is scheduled.

There are two ways to get around the scheduled reports: temporarily inactivate the report OR change the scheduled time for the report.

To inactivate a scheduled report:

  1. Open PharmaClik Rx Reports.
  2. Select Scheduled on the left side of the Select a Report window.
  3. Highlight the report to be inactivated.
  4. Select the Next button.
  5. Select the Timing tab.
  6. Deselect the Active checkbox.
  7. Select the Save button.

Note: Be sure to re-activate the report the next day by turning the Active checkbox back ON.

To change the time for a scheduled report:

  1. Open PharmaClik Rx Reports.
  2. Select Scheduled on the left side of the Select a Report window.
  3. Highlight the report to be inactivated.
  4. Select the Next button.
  5. Select the Timing tab.
  6. Change the Time field to later time. For example, if the report is scheduled to run at 7:00am try changing it to 10:00am.
  7. Select the Save button.

ISSUE 2:

The purge request keeps rolling over to the next night because batches are scheduled every morning.

A Pending purge request will not run if a batch is scheduled within 6 hours from the time the purge is initiated. Similar to issue #1 above, if your pharmacy schedules batches to run each morning, this could prevent the purge from running.

There are two ways to get around the scheduled batches: do not schedule a batch for the morning the purge is scheduled OR change the scheduled time for the batch to later in the day.
